You’re currently reading the words of someone who is, quite possibly, the luckiest and most excited human being on the planet at this moment.
Ever since I first took the job at Deer Haven, I wanted to attend the National Dressage Pony Cup with the Haflingers. Combining two of my favorite things – ponies and dressage – what’s not awesome about that?
It ended up being the first recognized show I ever went to, and I was able to go three different times, mostly with Avanti and Teddy (Crumble’s brother). Later, I went a fourth time with a client’s fancy little Half-Arab pony, in 2013. That was the year Rachel passed away, and the first year the Rachel King Memorial Award was given to the highest scoring Haflinger of the show.
Since my first time attending, I have wanted to bring my own Haflinger to Pony Cup. Each year, I’d say, “Maybe this will be the year I’ll get there”, but it just hasn’t worked out.
Well my friends, the entries are in. 2017 is THE. YEAR. We’re headed down from Vermont, we’re showing 3rd level, and we’re gonna have a blast!
Pony Cup is held at the Kentucky Horse Park in conjunction with the KY Dressage Association’s show, July 7th – 9th, and Crumble and I will be showing each day. To help earn some extra funds for this trip (which is huge – we’ll be taking four travel days total), I’ve added a cool new product to the shop:
Who doesn’t love a good t-shirt? These t-shirts are soft, lightweight, and come in a wide variety of colors, with unisex sizes from small to 4x. I’m offering a custom digital cartoon AND matching t-shirt, on sale through July 11th. Regularly, these would be $105, but during the sale, I’m offering them for $65. Plus, the first 10 people to use the coupon code
ponycup2017
can get an additional $10 off. Head on up to “Shop – Digital Downloads” to get more details. Oh, and did I mention that this price includes shipping?
Of course, anything you purchase from my shop or directly from me can go towards the Pony Cup fund. As July fast approaches, I’ll be putting together my packing list, cleaning and organizing, and making sure I have everything in order before we leave. Crumble and I will be working hard to learn our tests inside and out, getting to know our strengths and weaknesses better, and polishing our A-game.
Plus, I can’t wait to be reunited with old friends while we’re there. Speaking of friends – how about some new friends? Any fellow bloggers/Crumble fans want to meet up? Leave a comment, contact me on FB/Instagram or via email, and or just come on down to the Horse Park. I’d love to meet you!
